Karten Design was awarded three 2011 GOOD DESIGN awards for projects that advanced new, visionary, and innovative product concepts, invention and originality, and stretched the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary product and consumer design. The Awards were given for the VIZIO High Performance Bluetooth Stereo Headphones, Hitachi LifeStudio Mobile Plus External Hard Drive, and the Zen Cordless Prophy.
These products were chosen amongst several thousand submissions of the best new product design from the world’s leading designers, manufacturers, corporations, industrial design offices, architects, and graphic and packaging designers.
The submissions from over 38 countries were judged on not only aesthetic merit, but also on form, material, utility, functionality, durability, and sustainability.
Co-hosted by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, the GOOD DESIGN award remains the oldest and the world’s most recognized program for design excellence world-wide. The competition distinguishes creative achievements and pays tribute to the creative talents of designers and product manufacturers around the world.
