K:D in Canada: Stuart Karten Shares Best Practices in Medical Device and Digital Health Design

Stuart Karten recently had the pleasure of presenting best practices in medical device innovation at AstraZeneca Canada’s third annual Got Edge? Conference in Toronto. In his presentation, Stuart shared recent case studies and highlighted how researchers, strategists, designers, and mechanical engineers can assist healthcare companies in addressing some of the industry’s biggest challenges, such as introducing new technology and addressing the consumerization of healthcare. In addition, Stuart touched upon patient empowerment and how the patient’s role is increasingly becoming more important in determining health outcomes.

The “Got Edge?” initiative is a groundbreaking collaboration between AstraZeneca, their agency of record john st. advertising and the most innovative companies in the industry. AstraZeneca, a global biopharmaceutical company with research and development at its core, conducts the sessions over 3-4 days on a yearly basis with the aim to get their sales, marketing and executives thinking about how they can partner with those companies that are doing cutting edge, breakthrough work when it comes to healthcare. This year's theme was "Patient Empowerment".

Stuart Karten also had the opportunity to show off Karten Design’s latest work to a group of creative professionals from john st. In his presentation, Stuart highlighted Karten Design’s research and design capabilities that are creating extraordinary experiences between people and products.
